Laboratorio BEBI is a Swedish supercar manufacturer based in Solna, outside of Stockholm. The BEBI project is led by Clas Müller, who is also the founder and initiator. His team consists of ten people, including him, who share a passion for realising the idea behind BEBI. The first, and so far the only, concept developed by Laboratorio BEBI is the Quercianella.

The basic assumption behind BEBI is that a new generation of supercars is needed. The ambition is to create a unique product with better and more beautiful solutions. Laboratorio BEBI are also taking a step away from traditional exotic carmakers by choosing weight reduction as their approach instead of an addition of horsepower. Partly, this is an environmental concern, but reducing the overall weight of the car also greatly improves the handling. The Quercianella will feature a super light V8 engine running on E85 biofuel.

Exclusivity is another keyword in the BEBI vision. The cars are positioned as a connoisseur’s choice, representing integrity, knowledge and insight. A third principle at BEBI is the idea of the car as a single-minded instrument for advanced driving. The Quercianella is a car for those whose number one priority is the driving experience.

The BEBI project would not exist if it were not for Giotto Bizzarini, a famous Italian car concept designer and engineer. Clas Müller met Bizzarini for the first time in 1997 and started working with him on the first BEBI concept the following year. Quercianella is the name of Bizzarini’s hometown and choosing this name for the first BEBI car is a natural tribute to him. From the first rough prototype in Bizzarini’s Tuscany garage the Quercianella has come a long way, including track testing of a fully functional prototype in Sweden.

The basic material of the Quercianella’s design is carbonfibre. All of the bodywork will be executed in this material, as well as the monocoque chassis with its complementing steel subframes. This construction makes the car extremely rigid and allows the double wishbone, pushrod activated Öhlins coilovers suspension to make the most out of its extra long a-frames. The Quercianella is expected to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in less than three seconds.
